over the weekend

I shared another lovely weekend with wonderful friends and family. Since I'm not really good with words, here some great photos instead.

I started the weekend off with my beautiful girlfriends at the Austin Fashion Week kick-off party: Beauty Goes Red benefiting the American Heart Association. 

Did you know that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in America!

So that night led to way too many shots, which led me to a not so fun hangover on Saturday morning. But luckily I have the best hubs in the whole wide world and one rad new bff guy friend (he and hubs are bff so it's ok). But they don't like to see me in self-induced pain so they made a Torchy's taco run and came back with my favorite Girl Scout Cookies for 'dessert'! They're the bestest!

Saturday night we went to our, get this one, GREAT Niece's 4th princess birthday party! Yes I am a Great Aunt...thanks Ash! ;-) 

She loved our Tinkerbell and Fairy Friends costume we got for her. 

I just love these tender moments between proud Momma and her happy sweet baby girl. 

Then SUNday SUNDAY SUNDAYYY! Super Bowl Sunday! We had a little get together at our Casita. 

I made these Pinterest inspired football rice crispie treats.

Another super weekend for the books blog,

my birthday tomfoolery re-cap

And again I'm a little late with the weekend re-caps and re-cap on my birthday celebrations. Seriously, we are half way through January and we haven't stopped moving since Halloween really. Okay let's not kid, the days I'm hungover there is quite a bit of stopping to be had. ;-) 

Here is a picture re-cap of the seriously badace birthday shenanigans that took part! This one is definitely for the books my friends!

Like I mentioned before we went to have tacos and tequila on my actual birthday at appropriately named, TNT aka Tacos and Tequila. Check out my birthday shots! Mmm! Where my Mom and her boyfriend announced they are going to exchange vows, at get this -either at The HotterN-Hell Hundred or in Mexico. I opted for Mexico!! But either way we are SO very excited and happy for you two. It's about time! ;) 

Saturday we took The Pubcrawler out for a spin! We were all a little hesitant as no one had ever been on it before and pedaling a 3000 pound bike only going approximately 5 mph in the  middle of downtown Austin all while drinking sounded a tad intimidating. Ummm ya right, not for this crew!! It was a riot to say the least!

You can bring a keg and that's where the little guy goes.

At the end of the night we ended up at one of the best Austin late night breakfast spots. I'm pretty sure I sounded like this (start at 00:33) on the way to the restaurant. *Don't be alarmed I was not driving, girl scouts honor. 

And so I got my f**ing french toast ;-) 

...with the majority of it landing in my lap. 

But whatevs I was a super happy girl and wasn't too hungover the next morning surprisingly. Must have been the breakfast that saved me. By the way a big shout out to my Mom's fiance, he paid for every ones breakfast! Thank you mucho!

Oh and for my birthday I got all these lovely cards and flowers from my sweet friends and family. I love getting cards in the mail! Birthday love, y'all did it right!

NYE 2012 : shenanigans & tomfoolery!

We celebrated with some of our bestest friends this NYE. We decided to do it up big and ring in the New Year at the Kung Fu Saloon party with guest band, The Dan Band!

Here is kind of how the night went:

Anna won amazing tickets to Willie Nelson ACL live at the Moody theater which she ended up selling for boocoup bucks (which was a difficult decision for her, but she knew she'd have a better time with all her peeps) and decided to keep the hotel room at the W in downtown Austin; smart move friend. So we did a lovely pre-party in her room- thanks love! Check out the stellar view from the 10th floor!

All the sexy ladies- note, there was not an ounce of sparkle missing from any of them! LOVE the sequins!

Okay so maybe after the night got a little fuzzy, with random head stands in the hotel hallway, I jammed my thumb into the wall wrestling with T. We were locked out of the room for over an hour, we make due that's how we roll. Got separated from half the group, one set ended up over 10 blocks away from where our party was. We found out because a nice lady stranger answered the phone to tell us our friend was taking a nap on the sidewalk. Lost keys, $60 cab rides, people loosing their cookies. I can share all this and laugh at the same time because everyone ended up safe and sound. 

The next morning we some how managed pull ourselves out of bed and went to Torchy's Tacos for a little New Years brunch! Check out this motley crew! 

All in all it was a great night and I think twenty twelve is going to be just lovely!

my first Christmas as a Mrs.!

THE holiday season (you know which one I'm talking about, the one that starts right after Halloween and goes all the way to the New Year, or my birthday really) is never long enough for me to soak it all in. All being, extra special time with loved ones, the smells, the lights, new and old traditions and feeling extra blessed and thankful for the life that I have. Especially now getting older, my how the time flies. I find myself secretly acting like a kid, pretending I can freeze time or at least slow it down. Which is part of the reason I take SO MANY pictures; they help me to remember and refocus when life gets a little crazy and I need a reminder. I read a quote the other day that I just absolutely loved and wanted to share...

"Always remember to forget , the things that made you sad. But never forget to remember, the things that made you glad. Always, remember to forget, the friends that proved untrue. But don't forget to remember, those that stuck by you. Always remember to forget, the troubles that passed away. But never forget to remember, the blessings that come each day."

With that being said I hope you all had a very Merry, heartwarming, lovely Christmas! I sure did and here is a little recap of our first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs.

There was a white elephant gift exchange that included a chainsaw, fishing poles, gift cards, a fire pit with a S'mores making kit and an iHome portable speaker. Arm wrestling between Mom and I over said iHome speaker...I let her win. ;-) Slumber party, movie watching, tons of eating and drinking. Games of Cranium between the guys and the girls, that the girls won every time! Dance party to the new xbox Just Dance 3 game {T captured video of this, it's pretty hilarious and I'm debating whether or not they should be shared ;-)} and so much love and happiness you couldn't see straight. Next year I will be more diligent about taking more photos of the haps on T's side of the family. I think that by the time we got over there on Christmas afternoon I was in a holiday coma and wasn't thinking straight to take pictures of all the merriment that was taking place with his huge family.
